The focus on Black Women and Girls in California is a necessary step to improve our community. The work must be intentional and strengthen current programs and services as well as fill in the gaps.

 

This strategic policy platform and action plan was developed based on qualitative and quantitative data, which provided a snap shot of the current state. It also highlights the need to develop interventions to improve the quality of life indexes.  

 

Based on the analysis of the data and the diverse experiences highlighted at the State of Black Women in California forum by Black Women leaders, comprehensive recommendations have been created to serve as a road map for funders, policy makers and community based organizations.

The State of Black of Women: The Invisible Minority goal is to create systemic change that is achievable and sustainable. It provides stakeholders with the data along with recommendations to incorporate in their work.
